Obituary of Walter Tschinkel

Walter Tschinkel passed away on Wednesday March 15, 2023 at home in Monroe Village, Monroe Twp.  Walter was born in Nesseltal, Yugoslavia and raised in Austria where he attended primary school.  He came to the United States as a teenager, finished high school in Queens and then attended The Banking Institute in New York and furthered his education at NYU where he received his Master's Degree.  He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.  Walter worked in the banking industry early on in his career for Marine Midland, Lufthansa Airlines and for Roure for many years until his retirement.  Walter loved tennis and skiing and made great lifelong friends from his love of these sports.  

He was preceded in death by his brother, John Tschinkel and his sister Annie Wolf.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen (Lauer) Tschinkel of Monroe Twp.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.    

Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 am on Monday March 20, 2023 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  Funeral services will begin at 10:15 am from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 11:00 am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church - 185 Applegarth Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, South Brunswick.
