David J. Gsellmeyer passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Care One Rehab Center in East Brunswick.  He was 67 years old.  Dave was born in Jersey City and was raised in North Bergen.  He later lived in Bergenfield and has resided in Monroe Twp. since 1984.  He began his career with an entry-level position and worked his way up to a management position at International Flavors and Fragrances in Teterboro and South Brunswick Twp.  After 33 years at IFF, he established his own consulting business, DJG Consulting, Inc. in Monroe Twp.  His main contract was with the US Army in Picatinny Arsenal in Wharton.

Dave was a devoted family man who married his high school sweetheart, Sharon, on November 8, 1975.  He adored his children, Amanda, Jameel, David, and Karen.  Dave enjoyed the simple pleasures of family life, and get-togethers, especially when he could use his smoker and barbeque.  Dave was an avid reader.  He liked nothing better than to relax and read a good book or the daily newspapers.  He also enjoyed watching NASCAR races.  His favorite sports teams were the New York Giants and the New York Rangers.  Dave was a Boy Scout for many of his early years.  He was a big Bruce Springsteen and Garth Brooks fan.  He also loved watching and coaching his son, David, in the Monroe Twp. Recreation Hockey League.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Henry and Rita (Ianantuano) Gsellmeyer, his brother, Robert Gsellmeyer, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Patrick and Margaret (Wey) O'Day, and his brother-in-law, Dennis O'Day.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 46 years, Sharon (O'Day) Gsellmeyer, his children, Amanda, Jameel, David, and Karen.  He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Ken Behr, two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Mitchell and her husband Paul, and Loretta Baillie O'Day, loving aunts, Nancy Vermeal, Catherine Troost, and Kathy Ianantuano, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
