Obituary of Robert C. Lipsit
Mr. Robert C. Lipsit, Sr. passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at his home in The Ponds, Monroe Twp. He was 92 years old. Mr. Lipsit was born and raised in Detroit, MI. He later lived in Edison and has resided in The Ponds, Monroe Twp. since 1996. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Chemical Engineer and worked for Nabisco in Fairlawn until his retirement in 1996. He was a former President of The Ponds community association and was also a member of the Investment Club, the Bridge Club, and the Italian American Club. He previously served as a school board member on the Edison Twp. Board of Education.
He was pre-deceased by his brother, Richard Lipsit.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret (Charnley) Lipsit of The Ponds, Monroe Twp., three children, Nancy Matusiewicz and her husband Brian of Edison, Cathy Jones and her husband Tim of Metuchen, and Robert C. Lipsit, Jr. and his wife Laura of Lumberton, one brother, James Lipsit of Jupiter, FL, eight grandchildren, one great grandson, four step grandchildren, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 and from 9:30am to 10:00am on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am on Thursday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at St. James the Less RC Church 36 Lincoln Ave. Jamesburg, NJ 08831. A private Cremation will follow the Mass.
