Robert William Wilmer, Hightstown, NJ
Robert William Wilmer, 80, died on Sunday December 22, 2019 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Robert was born in Pennington, NJ; he was a graduate of Pennington Central High School class of 1957. Robert was employed by U.S. Steel and worked as an industrial black smith for ten years, before going into the body shop profession. He has been the owner and operator of Jamesburg Collision for over thirty years. Robert enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, fishing, and loved volunteering his time at the Elks Club. Robert was a member of the Mercer County Anglers Association, German American Society, Valley Snow Travelers Snowmobile Association and the Jamesburg Elks Lodge 2180. Robert was the past Exalted Ruler four times for the lodge, Vice President and Deputy of the State Central District, Past Elk of the Year and Past Officer of the Year.
Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia M. Wilmer (2018).
Robert is survived by his three sons: Bernard Eugene Wilmer (Francine Pasch) of Hightstown, NJ, William Peter Frederick Wilmer (Deborah Patterson Wilmer) of Westampton, NJ and Nicholas Benjamin Wilmer (Jessica Albright) of Cicero, IN., eight grandchildren: Blake, Bryan, Nicholas, Jake, Alexandra, Andrew, Jackson and Max Wilmer, also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 starting at 3:00pm with a service at 4:30pm at the Jamesburg Elks Lodge 2180, 74 West Railroad Ave., Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
