Obituary of Emmett M. Beahan
Emmett M. Beahan passed away on Monday July 1, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 75 years old. Emmett was born and raised in Newark. He resided in North Brunswick for 17 years before moving to Cranbury Crossing in Monroe Twp. in 2009. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a corrections officer, and retired in 1994 as Sergeant, for the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark. He was a member of the Free Order of the Masons Philo Lodge 243 in South River and was an honored Distinguished White Apron recipient.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Walter McComber and Rita (Kelly) Beahan, and his brother John Beahan.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Pat (Turner) Beahan of Cranbury Crossing, Monroe Twp., three daughters, Cara Yankauskas and her fiancee Chuck and his son Anthony of Barnegat, Heather Beahan of Patchogue, NY, and Katelyn Beahan of Whiting, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday July 5, 2019 and from 8:15am to 8:45am on Saturday July 6, 2019 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Saturday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Our Lady of Peace RC Church, 1740 US Highway Rt. 130 North Brunswick, NJ 08902. A private cremation will follow the liturgy.
